Change New Year's Resolution to Resolve

1/2/2023

This year, let's do things a little bit different. Let's relax a little, have a little more fun and step into the flow of life rather than fighting against it.

WHERE TO START:

What's important to you and why?
What are you looking for?
Eg. more joy, connection, fun & happy body, calmer mind, meaning & purpose.
What outcome would light you up? How will you know you've achieved that?
What is the cost of not doing this?
Who else will benefit? Eg. your kids, friends, partner, family, coworkers
What might you have to let go of or embrace?

FOR GREATER SUCCESS:
Be fluid - respond to life, pivot/shift/reframe as necessary.
Base success on how you feel, not on what you achieve.
Practice daily acknowledgement and gratitude.
Make a list of people you can connect with regularly to keep you on track and motivated.
Choose goals that bring you joy and are kind to you.
Use seasonal wisdom
Find a photo of yourself that you love & look at it regularly. That's who you're doing this for.

WHAT TO AVOID:
Making yourself wrong for what happened last year.
Choosing goals that are outwardly motivated.
Being hard on yourself for perceived failings. Just start again or adjust your target.

CONSIDER "RESOLVE" VS "RESOLUTION":
A RESOLUTION is defined as a decision to do or not do something.
RESOLVE is defined as firm determination to do something.
Commit to doing things that bring you joy.
(Do what feels light, Don't do what feels heavy.)
Commit to being kinder and gentler with yourself.
Ask your body what it wants to eat/drink. How does it want to move, rest and enjoy?
Commit to making choices that work for you not against you.

*Commit to making your life a place for MIRACLES!
**Think in terms of what will be a gift to your future self.

This is a more energetic approach that offers less resistance and will serve you better in the long run. It allows for course correction and lessens the judgement around success and failure.

For more specific or concrete goals the approach is very similar. Stay in touch with why you're doing it, what the benefits will be and what the cost of not doing it will be. Keep that photo on hand to remind you that this is an act of love for yourself.

Resolve means you're all in and you're showing up no matter what. This is who you are now. You're allowed time off, you're allowed to break down and start over, but you are committed to you and creating a life you love living.

Hi! Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.
I love people and I love helping them find ways to live happier, more fulfilling lives. I believe in possibilities and opportunities which is why I'm a passionate Transformational Life Coach, Yoga teacher and Energy Medicine Practitioner. I'm also a mom, artist, traveller, and messy creative miracle minded rebel. I love to learn and create beauty all around me.

More than that, I love working with people who are ready to step into their glory and let the light shine through them. The world needs people who have had their fires ignited and are ready to share that flame with others. If this sounds like you, send me a message and let's see what it might be like to work together.
