Why I Coach
I used to be shy. Really shy. So shy that I as a kid I rarely went out for recess and spent far too much time at home or in the nurses office feeling sick to my stomach. I'm sure it didn't help that I was an only child, we lived rurally when I was young and then moved many times. But as is often the case, those experiences are what brought me here today. As a teenager I spent a lot of time alone in my room contemplating life. I had a strong desire to help others have better lives. I wanted to make a positive impact on the world and bring people together. At 18 I discovered Reiki and started training 6hrs away with the only teacher I could find at the time. My interest in the mind/body connection grew and I read everything I could find. One of my first reads was a book called Why People Don't Heal and How they Can, by Caroline Myss. It gave me such a sense of compassion for people but also an awareness of how we create and perpetuate our own suffering.
I always new that I wanted to help people transform their lives and so I sought out every opportunity I could find or create to deliver a message of hope. I also studied relentlessly to be better equipped to offer solutions to a variety of difficulties. It was this passion to serve and contribute that forced me to come out of my shyness. I used my love of people to learn to connect from my heart and quiet the nervousness of my mind. And, I practiced and studied continuously to be masterful in the services I offer.
Today my love for people continues to grow as does my determination to offer them the opportunity to live a fun and fulfilling life that they love. I want everyone to know for themselves what is possible and how to get into the flow of life so they can be available to contribute in a way that's meaningful to them.
Like anyone else, I have had my share of challenges, set backs, heartbreak and discouragement. I've compared myself to others, second guessed my vision, had imposter syndrome, quit and started again many times. I know what it's like to have a genuine human experience of falling and rising again and again. I also know what it's like to move beyond my perceived limitations, see big and small changes and over time watch myself and my life completely transform. I know what it is to trust the flow, listen to and follow insights, come out of judgement of myself and others, and genuinely love my life.
Now I not only have a whole lot of personal experience with my own journey of transformation, but I also have the tools and wisdom to help others have profound transformations of their own. I get to apply what I know and watch others grow, blossom and sow seeds for change and expansion in their families and communities.
This is why I coach.
